How BodyTite works
The BodyTite device is made of two probes and a handpiece. After injecting a local anaesthetic, a very short incision is made in the treatment area, allowing one of the probes to be inserted under the skin to deliver radiofrequency energy. The second probe slides over the surface of the skin as the handpiece is moved around. Radiofrequency energy circulates between the two probes, which generates heat that liquefies fat cells and causes the skin to retract while increasing collagen production.
Post-treatment & side effects
Bruising, redness and mild swelling are to be expected after a BodyTite treatment, those typically resolve after a few days. Patients can resume their usual activities after a period of one week. However, exercising is out of the question for 2 to 4 weeks depending on the areas treated. A compressive garment has to be worn for a couple of weeks to keep the treatment area firm.
