Fat grafting buttock augmentation, aka the Brazilian Butt Lift
Fat grafting buttock augmentation involves harvesting fat in the abdominal region, the hips or thighs with liposuction and injecting this fat in the buttocks. This technique offers the benefit of improving two areas of the body by slimming down a chosen excess fat area and increasing buttock volume in a single procedure.
Fat grafting can lift up the buttocks in case of slight to moderate sagging and also make them rounder and firmer while preserving their natural appearance. While the Brazilian Butt Lift is a very popular procedure, another procedure designed to improve the appearance of the buttocks can be performed for larger volume increases or in case the patient does not have sufficient fat stored in her body to achieve a satisfactory result with fat grafting.
Buttock implants
This approach is recommended for women, but also men, requesting a buttock volume increase as well as improvements in the shape and projection of the buttocks. In order to determine the ideal shape and projection for each patient, surgeons assess morphology, weight and height of each individual during their initial consultation. Buttocks augmentation with implants is typically performed under general anesthesia and involves placing silicone implants under the buttock muscle through a short incision that becomes almost invisible after complete healing.
The most common buttock implants are round, but there are also oval shaped implants designed for buttock augmentation. The choice between different implants types and sizes depends on the characteristics of the patient’s gluteal region. Note that buttocks are typically more durable than breast implants as they can last between 20 to 25 years on average.
